Some of of the major diseases in adulthood have their origins before or soon after birth.  There are several triggers that program the unborn child for subsequent health and disease.

The field of study which examines was originally known as the “Fetal Origins of Adult Disease” but is now known as the “Developmental Origins of Health and Disease” (DOHaD).

The Raine Study provides a unique opportunity to examine how events around pregnancy and birth, and early life years influence health outcomes.
