The Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children (ALSPAC) - is a cohort study based in Bristol in the UK. More than 14,000 mothers enrolled during pregnancy in 1991 and 1992.

The Dunedin Multidisciplinary Health and Development Study (also known as the Dunedin Longitudinal Study) - is a longitudinal study of 1037 babies born in Dunedin, New Zealand between 1 April 1972 and 31 March 1973.

The Longitudinal Study of Australian Children (Growing Up in Australia) was initiated in Melbourne, Australia in 2004. Data is being collected over seven years from two cohorts. The first cohort of 5000 children aged less than 12 months in 2003/4 will be followed until they reach 6 to 7 years of age, and the second cohort comprising 5000 children aged 4 years in 2003/4 will be followed until age 10 or 11 years of age.

The Generation R Study is a prospective cohort study from fetal life until young adulthood in a multi-ethnic urban population. The study is designed to identify early environmental and genetic causes of normal and abnormal growth, development and health from fetal life until young adulthood.
