Raine Study 21 year Celebration

The Raine Study has become one of the most successful scientific studies of pregnancy, childhood and adolescence in the world. The Raine Study cohort consists of over 2000 young adults who are currently aged between 19 and 22 years of age.

Over the years this group, along with their parents have participated in the Raine Study by attending over ten separate assessments, where they have been measured and tested and completed questionnaires and provided information.  This has resulted in a unique and enormously valuable collection of information on pregnancy, childhood, teenage and young adult information.

Over 150 researchers are involved in using this information to examine the development and outcomes of health and diseases in all areas.

We are holding an event to celebrate and thank the Raine Study participants and to showcase the Research that they have made possible over the past 21 years.

The event is being held on the 6 November, in the Government House Gardens, from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm. It is open to Raine Study Participants, their families, the research community of WA and invited guests.

The Raine Study Research groups will display their research and the results and findings from the information provided by the Raine Study participants over the past 20 years. There will be various forms of entertainment. Food will available for guests to purchase. Free refreshments will be provided for the Raine Study participants in a designated VIP area.

At 1:00pm the Government House Gardens will open. Please enter the Gardens from the South Entrance on Governors Avenue, off Riverside Drive. Parking is available next to Governors Avenue.

At 1:30 pm, His Excellency Mr Malcolm McCusker AO QC, Governor of Western Australia, will officially open the Celebration.

At 2:30 pm, Professor John Newnham will talk about the Raine Study and Professor Fiona Stanley will make presentations to Raine Study Participants.

At 3:30 pm we would ask that all the Raine Study Participants assemble on the slope in the Gardens, for an official Raine Study Photograph.

At 4:00 pm, refreshments will be served for Raine Study Participants in the VIP area.
